Dhruv64: India’s First Homegrown 64-Bit Dual-Core Microprocessor Unveiled

India has unveiled Dhruv64, its first fully homegrown 64-bit microprocessor, developed by C-DAC under the Digital India RISC-V initiative. The 1.0GHz dual-core chip is designed for industrial systems, connected devices and critical infrastructure. Built on the open-source RISC-V architecture, Dhruv64 reduces dependence on imported processors and strengthens India’s domestic chip design ecosystem.
