Arya.ag, an Indian integrated grain commerce platform, has raised Rs 725 crore, or about $80.58 million, in a Series D funding round led by GEF Capital Partners. The company said the fresh capital will help it work more closely with farmers and farmer organisations to promote climate-smart and market-driven agriculture practices. It will also support efforts to protect small farmers from climate-related risks by improving access to technology-based solutions. Arya.ag plans to use the funds to reduce post-harvest losses at the farm level and across the agriculture supply chain. Founded in 2013 by Prasanna Rao, Anand Chandra, and Chattanathan Devarajan, Arya.ag aims to solve the trust gap in Indian agriculture.
