The agreement
These Terms are between you and Kaam Job Career Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai ("Kaam", "we"). They cover kaam.com, your Kaam ID page, the Kaam app, Kai on the web and on WhatsApp, Kaam Bolo, and every tool listed in section 02 (together, the "Services"). Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and is part of this agreement.
By creating a Kaam ID or using the Services you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Kaam.
You must be 18 or older. If you are younger and want a Kaam ID for your first job, a parent or guardian must create the account with you and accept these Terms on your behalf.
What Kaam is
Kaam is a career passport for every kind of work in India. Today the Services include:
- Kaam ID: your page at kaam.com/yourname, your card and QR code, your chosen look, and a Verified tick when you earn it.
- Kai: an AI assistant on the web and on WhatsApp that gets to know your situation, builds your record from conversation, finds roles, reminds you, and shapes your CV for a specific job.
- Kaam Bolo: a CV built from your spoken answers in your own language.
- Resume Studio: designer CV templates, an analyser, an editor, and a CV shaped for each role you apply to.
- Job Scout: roles gathered from job sites, employers and partners, matched to you, with alerts you ask for. Applying usually takes you to the employer's or job site's own page, and we say so before you go.
- Kaam Verified: checks of the identity, education and work documents you choose to give us, directly or through DigiLocker.
- Work Showcase and voice: photos of your work and a spoken-English sample, if you choose to add them to your page.
- Headshot Studio, assessments, mock interviews, Learning, Gig Matrix, Nearby and Companies: tools to present yourself, test yourself, learn, earn and find who is hiring near you.
We add, change and retire tools as Kaam grows. When a change removes something you rely on, we tell you inside Kaam first.
Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep it current. Your Kaam ID is meant to be shown to employers; a false record hurts you first.
- One account per person. Do not create accounts for other people, or by automated means.
- Keep your password and one-time codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us at once at support@kaam.com if you think someone else is using it.
- Your mobile number is the key to your account and to Kai on WhatsApp. Keep it verified and tell us when it changes.
Your kaam.com/name
You choose a name for your page, first come first served. Some names are reserved. Your name is a licence to use, not property. We may reclaim, change or reassign a name, after telling you where we can, if it:
- impersonates a person, brand or institution, or infringes a trade mark;
- is offensive or misleading;
- belongs to an account that has been deleted, or has stayed empty and unused for more than twelve months;
- is needed to operate Kaam, for example a route the site itself uses.
You have no ownership in kaam.com, in any sub-domain, or in the structure of our URLs.
Your content
Everything you put on Kaam stays yours: your words, photos, voice recordings, documents, CVs, and the answers you give Kai.
So that Kaam can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, adapt, translate, display and transmit that content only to run and improve the Services for you: to show your page, design your CV, transcribe your voice, translate your profile, generate a CV for a job, make your headshots, and send what you ask us to send. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already sent at your request and the backup period in the Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload, that your work photos and documents are yours or you have permission to use them, and that your record is truthful. Voice recordings must be your own voice. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.
Anything Kai, the CV writer or the Headshot Studio produces from your content is yours to use. We do not claim it.
AI, Kai and voice
Kai and our other tools use artificial intelligence, including models run by outside providers named in the Privacy Policy. AI can misunderstand you, invent a detail, or give advice that does not fit your situation. Everything it produces is a draft for you to check. Before you send a CV, accept a job, or act on advice, read it. Kai is not a lawyer, doctor, financial adviser or employer, and it does not promise you a job.
Kai remembers what you tell it so that it can help you over time. You can ask Kai to forget something, delete the conversation, or delete your account, and it will.
Voice features record only when you press record. Recordings, transcripts and the spoken-English sample on your page can be deleted by you at any time.
Kaam Verified
Kaam Verified checks the documents you give us against what they say and, where possible, against their issuer, and shows a tick and a level on your page. It is a check of documents, not a background investigation and not a guarantee of anyone's character or ability. Employers should make their own decisions. Do not upload documents that are not yours. Forging or altering a document ends your account and may be reported.
Jobs and employers
- We are not the employer and not an employment agency. We gather openings from job sites, employer pages and partners, and we shape your record so that employers can read it. Whether to interview or hire you is their decision, and we cannot promise an outcome.
- Openings we gather from other sites belong to those sites. We check and filter them, but we cannot promise that every listing is current or genuine. When a link takes you off Kaam we tell you, and that site's own terms apply from then on.
- Never pay anyone for a job. Kaam does not charge people, and no genuine employer on Kaam will ask you for money. Report anyone who does to support@kaam.com.
- When you apply, join a hiring pool or share your CV, you are choosing to send that employer your details. We ask businesses on Kaam Hire to treat candidates fairly and lawfully, but their conduct is their own.
- If your site's job postings appear on Kaam and you want them removed, write to legal@kaam.com or block our crawler in robots.txt. We act within 30 days.
Kai on WhatsApp
When you message Kai on WhatsApp, or ask us to send you jobs there, you agree to receive messages from Kaam on that number. Kai's messages are about your account, your search and things you asked for. You can tell Kai to stop at any time and it will stop. WhatsApp is run by Meta; its own terms and charges apply to your use of it.
Kaam for business
Businesses use Kaam through Kaam Hire at hire.kaam.com, the tools for companies on the map, and partner programmes. Those are governed by their own agreements. A business that reaches you through Kaam still must follow these Terms in how it treats you and the Privacy Policy in how it handles your data.
What you may not do
- Pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your qualifications, identity or history.
- Upload documents, photos or recordings that are not yours to use, or that are false or altered.
- Harvest, scrape or copy other members' pages or data, by hand or by machine, or use Kaam to build a database of people.
- Post anything unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or misleading, or use Kaam to harass anyone.
- Send spam, malware or unsolicited offers to members, or use Kai to generate them.
- Probe, break or overload our systems, or get around security or access controls.
- Use the Services for anything illegal, or to help someone else do so.
Breaking these rules can end your account without notice, and we may report unlawful conduct to the authorities.
Our property
Kaam, Kaam ID, Kai, Kaam Bolo, Kaam Hire and our logos are our marks. The software, design, CV templates, text and images we created are ours or licensed to us. You may use them only as part of the Services. You may not copy our templates or designs to sell or offer elsewhere. If you send us ideas about Kaam, we may use them without owing you anything.
No guarantees
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
In particular we do not promise that Kaam will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any listing is accurate or genuine, that AI output is correct, that a Verified tick means anything beyond the document check described in section 07, or that you will get an interview or a job.
Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KAAM AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF INCOME, OPPORTUNITY OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ₹5,000, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under Indian law that cannot be limited by contract, including your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
You agree to hold Kaam harmless from claims that arise from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of anyone's rights or the law.
Ending the account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Your page, CVs, files, recordings, photos, documents, conversations and settings are deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, and your kaam.com/name is released.
We may suspend or end your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, if the account is used for fraud, or if we stop offering the Services. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to take your data with you. Sections 05 (for copies already sent), 12, 13, 14 and 16 survive the end of the account.
Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, write to us at legal@kaam.com; most problems can be fixed in a conversation, and we will respond within 30 days. Nothing here stops you from using a consumer forum or the Data Protection Board of India where the law gives you that right.
Changes
We update these Terms when Kaam changes. The date at the top tells you when. For changes that affect your rights, we will tell you by email or inside Kaam before they take effect. If you keep using Kaam after that, the new Terms apply. If you disagree, you can delete your account and take your data with you.
