Pharmacy Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Pharmacy Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient medication management, inventory control, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of pharmacy staff.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy.

Supervise, train, and manage pharmacists and pharmacy support staff.

Ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medicines as per prescriptions.

Maintain adequate stock levels and ensure proper inventory management.

Monitor medicine expiry dates, batch numbers, storage conditions, and stock movement.

Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, procurement, stores, and other hospital departments.

Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain proper records for medicines, including controlled and high-alert medications where applicable.

Monitor purchase requirements and coordinate with vendors and the procurement team.

Minimize stock shortages, excess inventory, wastage, and expired medicines.

Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliation.

Implement and maintain pharmacy SOPs and quality standards.

Handle pharmacy-related patient or staff concerns professionally.

Prepare pharmacy reports, stock statements, and other management reports.

Ensure proper housekeeping, organization, and storage standards within the pharmacy.

Support internal and external audits and inspections.

Qualifications

B.Pharm / M.Pharm degree from a recognized institution.

Valid registration with the applicable State Pharmacy Council.

Previous experience in hospital pharmacy management is preferred.

Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and regulatory requirements.

Good leadership, communication, and team-management skills.

Experience

5+ years of experience in pharmacy operations, with relevant experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
