About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and well-presented Butler to manage refined food and beverage service, formal table settings, and dining presentation for a private family of four. The ideal candidate should have excellent hospitality standards, strong technical knowledge of food and beverages, and the ability to deliver discreet, personalised service while ensuring smooth day-to-day household operations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional formal and informal food and beverage service to the family and their guests.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of food and beverages, serving etiquette, presentation, and appropriate pairings.

Set, arrange, and present dining tables for daily meals, formal dinners, special occasions, and private gatherings.

Maintain, polish, organise, and manage the inventory of cutlery, crockery, glassware, and other dining essentials.

Manage bar service, including wine, beverages, tea, and coffee, as required.

Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal service and seamless dining experiences.

Guide and coordinate with existing household service staff to maintain high standards of hospitality.

Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of dining and service areas.

Anticipate the family's preferences and provide personalised, attentive service.

Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality regarding the family and household.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Butler or in fine dining, luxury hotels, or premium hospitality establishments.

Strong technical knowledge of food and beverage service, table etiquette, and formal dining presentation.

Proven experience in handling and maintaining cutlery, crockery, glassware, and dining equipment.

Prior experience serving high-profile families or private residences will be preferred.

Hospitality or professional Butler training will be an advantage.

Candidates based in Kolkata will be preferred.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and coordination skills.

A polished appearance, professional demeanour, attention to detail, and a service-oriented attitude.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work effectively in a private household environment.
