INDIAN COOK Restaurant: Little Chef Restaurant, Agartala Position: Indian Cook Job Type: Full-Time Department: Kitchen We are looking for an experienced Indian Cook who can independently prepare a wide range of North Indian and Indian restaurant dishes while maintaining consistent taste, quality and portion size. Job Responsibilities Prepare different types of Indian gravies and curries , including: Butter Masala Kadhai Handi Masala Chicken Bharta Chicken Chaap Tikka Butter Masala Reshmi Butter Masala Other regular chicken, paneer and vegetable preparations Prepare proper base gravies, masalas, sauces and mise-en-place before service. Handle à la carte orders independently during busy lunch and dinner hours. Maintain consistent taste, colour, texture, portion size and presentation . Follow standard recipes and ensure the same quality regardless of order volume. Properly handle and store chicken, paneer, vegetables, dairy products, spices and prepared gravies. Control oil, butter, cream, spices and other ingredients to minimize unnecessary food cost and wastage. Check freshness and quality of raw materials before use. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the Indian kitchen, cooking range, utensils and storage areas. Follow FIFO and proper food-storage practices. Coordinate with the Tandoor, Chinese and other kitchen sections for smooth order execution. Maintain proper preparation levels for weekends and peak business periods. Assist in stock checking and inform the kitchen supervisor about required ingredients in advance. Candidate RequirementsPrevious experience as an Indian Cook / Indian Curry Cook in a restaurant or hotel. Strong knowledge of North Indian restaurant-style cooking . Must know preparation and balancing of different Indian base gravies . Should be capable of independently handling an Indian kitchen section. Must be able to maintain consistent taste even during high-volume service. Good knowledge of portion control, food hygiene and kitchen discipline. Must be punctual, responsible and able to work as part of a kitchen team. Preferred Skills Experience in Indian /Bengali/Mughlai dishes, biryani and Indian starters will be an additional advantage.
