Pizza Maker-Woodfire

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Wood-Fired Pizza Chef / Pizzaiolo to join our premium fine-dining restaurant in Surat.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with wood-fired pizza, excellent knowledge of dough preparation and fermentation, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality pizzas in a professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare authentic, premium-quality wood-fired pizzas according to restaurant standards.

Prepare and manage pizza dough, including mixing, fermentation, portioning, shaping and stretching.

Operate and maintain a wood-fired pizza oven, including managing temperature and fire.

Maintain consistency in pizza size, texture, toppings, baking and presentation.

Prepare pizza sauces, toppings and mise en place as per recipes and quality standards.

Ensure proper food storage, hygiene and freshness of ingredients.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pizza station.

Monitor food quality, portion control and wastage.

Coordinate effectively with the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Follow all food safety, hygiene and restaurant SOPs.

Assist in developing new pizza recipes and seasonal specials when required.

Maintain equipment and report any maintenance or operational issues.

Handle high-volume service while maintaining fine-dining quality and presentation.

Candidate Profile

2–5 years of relevant experience in a professional pizza kitchen preferred.

Strong experience with wood-fired pizza ovens is essential.

Good understanding of dough hydration, fermentation and baking techniques.

Knowledge of Italian-style pizza is an advantage.

Ability to work under pressure during busy service.

Strong attention to detail and consistency.

Good personal hygiene and kitchen discipline.

Team player with a positive and professional attitude.

Willingness to learn and adapt to premium restaurant standards.
