Job Description – Java Backend Lead

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Lead to design, develop, and lead the development of scalable, high-performance backend applications. The candidate will be responsible for technical leadership, architecture, coding, code reviews, and mentoring developers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of scalable Java backend applications.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to the backend development team.

Design and implement application architecture and backend solutions.

Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards and best practices.

Troubleshoot complex application, performance, and production issues.

Work closely with Product, Frontend, DevOps, QA, and Architecture teams.

Mentor and guide junior and senior developers.

Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and architectural decisions.

Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.

Implement automated testing and support CI/CD processes.

Participate in production deployments and provide production support.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+.

Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Framework.

Extensive experience developing REST APIs and Microservices.

Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.

Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.

Good understanding of JPA/Hibernate.

Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.

Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Strong understanding of system design and distributed systems.

Experience with application performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Good understanding of unit testing and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
