Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse – Labour Room to join our Obstetrics & Gynaecology team. The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a Labour Room/Obstetrics setting and be capable of providing safe, efficient and patient-centred care to mothers and newborns.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to patients during labour, delivery and the immediate post-delivery period.
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and promptly report any abnormalities.
Assist doctors during normal and complicated deliveries and obstetric procedures.
Prepare and maintain the Labour Room, equipment and emergency supplies.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
Follow infection prevention, medication safety and hospital protocols.
Provide postnatal care and support to mothers and newborns.
Coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Handle obstetric emergencies efficiently and assist in emergency interventions.
Educate and support patients and their attendants regarding labour, delivery and postnatal care.
Eligibility
B.Sc Nursing /Post B.SC from a recognised institution.
Minimum 2 years of relevant Labour Room experience.
Valid - KARNATAKA nursing registration.
Good clinical knowledge and patient-care skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights.
