Lase Machine Operator

• Operate CNC laser cutting machines for cutting MS, SS, aluminium, and other sheet metal materials as per drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and cutting layouts.
• Set machine parameters such as laser power, cutting speed, focus, and gas pressure according to material thickness.
• Load and unload sheet metal plates and ensure proper material positioning.
• Perform machine setup, nozzle changes, lens cleaning, and routine maintenance.
• Check cutting dimensions and quality using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers and measuring tapes.
• Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy and minimize material wastage.
• Identify and troubleshoot cutting defects, including burrs, dross, incomplete cuts, and dimensional variations.
• Follow production schedules and achieve daily production targets.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow workplace safety procedures.
• Coordinate with the production, quality, and maintenance teams.
• Maintain production records, material usage details, and machine operating logs.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of CNC laser cutting machines.
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and nesting programs.
• Understanding of MS, SS, and aluminium sheet cutting.
• Basic machine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of quality inspection and measurement tools.
• Awareness of industrial safety standards
