Pharmacist

Job Purpose

To ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications to outpatient (OP) and inpatient (IP) departments, while maintaining proper inventory control and compliance with pharmacy standards.

Critical Accountabilities

• Dispense medications accurately as per valid prescriptions.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of medicines.
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and maintain inventory records.
• Counsel patients on medication usage and dosage.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow hospital policies and pharmacy regulations.

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of medicines, dosages, and drug interactions.
• Good communication and patient counselling skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
• Basic computer skills and inventory management.
• Ability to work in a team and handle responsibilities efficiently.

• Patient satisfaction and quality of service.
• Inventory accuracy and minimal medication wastage.
• Compliance with pharmacy standards and procedures.

Mandatory Requirements

• D.Pharm or B.Pharm qualification.
• Valid KSPC (Karnataka State Pharmacy Council) registration certificate.
• Relevant experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred.
