Assistant Store Keeper

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Store Keeper at a construction site is responsible for managing the storage, issuance, and documentation of all materials, tools, and equipment used in the project. The role ensures that stock is accurate, secure, and available when needed, while maintaining coordination with site teams, vendors, and management Job Descriptions, Resumes, and Career Resources+1.

Key Responsibilities

• Store Operations
• Open the store daily at the scheduled time and ensure it is clean, organized, and ready for use
• Maintain proper storage conditions for all materials and equipment.
• Material Handling
• Receive materials from suppliers, verify quantity and quality against delivery challans/invoices Friends Electrical.
• Shift and arrange received materials in designated storage areas.
• Issue materials to site staff/laborers as per daily requirements.
• Documentation \& Records
• Maintain accurate stock registers, inward/outward registers, and delivery/dispatch logs careerguidance.unilearn.org.in.
• Record all received materials in the inward register and update inventory levels regularly.
• Prepare and submit Daily Work Reports, End-of-Day Reports, and Material Inspection Reports (MIR) Friends Electrical.
• Keep daily attendance records of store staff/laborers if applicable.
• Material Requisition \& Procurement
• Raise requisitions for materials based on stock availability.
• Coordinate with the office for purchase approvals and arrange urgent local purchases when required Friends Electrical.
• Coordination \& Reporting
• Maintain regular communication with the site in-charge, procurement team, and vendors.
• Provide timely updates on stock levels, shortages, or urgent needs Friends Electrical.

Skills \& Competencies

• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, Word, email).
• Knowledge of store management, inventory control, and construction materials.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications \& Experience

• Minimum 10+2 or Diploma (Graduate preferred). EXPERIENCE IN CONSTRUCTION FIELD
• 2–5 years’ experience in storekeeping, preferably in construction or project sites.
