Service Technician – HVAC

About the opportunity

This role is with a well-established MEP/EPC contracting organisation based in Gurgaon, delivering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire-protection systems across industrial and commercial projects. The hiring is being managed by Cusec Consulting, a management and talent-advisory firm partnering with leading real-estate, infrastructure and MEP/EPC organisations.

We are hiring a Service Technician – HVAC to carry out maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment at client sites under AMC / O\&M contracts.

Role overview

Working under the Service Engineer / Service Head – HVAC, the Service Technician carries out preventive and breakdown maintenance of HVAC equipment at client sites — diagnosing faults, repairing or replacing components, carrying out gas charging, and keeping equipment running reliably while maintaining accurate service records and safe working practices.

Key responsibilities

• Preventive and breakdown maintenance. Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) and attend breakdown calls for HVAC equipment — chillers, AHUs/FCUs, VRF/VRV, split and package ACs, cooling towers, pumps and ducting — at client sites.

• Fault diagnosis and repair. Diagnose faults, repair or replace defective components, and restore equipment to normal operation within SLA timelines.

• Refrigeration and gas charging. Carry out brazing, leak testing, evacuation and refrigerant gas charging, handling refrigerants safely as per good practice.

• Controls and electricals. Check and rectify HVAC electrical controls, thermostats, sensors, starters and basic BMS points.

• Service records. Complete service reports, checklists and logs accurately, note spares used, and obtain client sign-off.

• Safety and conduct. Follow site safety and PPE requirements, maintain tools, and represent the company professionally at client sites.

Required qualifications and skills

• ITI (Refrigeration \& Air-Conditioning / Mechanic R\&AC) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–6 years’ hands-on experience in HVAC service and maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of the refrigeration cycle, brazing, gas charging and HVAC fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read basic HVAC drawings and understand electrical controls.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and attend breakdown calls as required.

Preferred (good to have)

• Experience on chillers and/or VRF systems.
• Basic BMS / controls exposure.
• Two-wheeler with a valid driving licence.
