Senior Staff Nurse

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

Assess patients and document nursing observations.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition.

Develop and implement nursing care plans.

Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.

Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed.

Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.

Respond promptly to patient emergencies and clinical deterioration.

Documentation

Maintain accurate and timely nursing records.

Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses.

Complete all required reports and handover notes.

Patient & Family Education

Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

Promote health education and preventive care practices.

Safety & Quality

Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Report incidents, near misses, and adverse events as per policy.

Infection Control

Follow hand hygiene and infection control guidelines.

Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.

Communication & Teamwork

Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

Participate in shift handovers and multidisciplinary meetings.

Maintain professional communication with patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

B.Sc. Nursing Nursing from a recognized institution.

Valid Tamilnadu State Nursing Council Registration

Experience

Fresher or 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience.

Experience in Oncology, ICU, OT, Radiation Oncology, or Specialty Units preferred.\
