General Hotel Manager – Job Description Job Role General Hotel Manager / Restaurant Operations Manager About the Restaurant This is primarily a Takeaway & Parcel Restaurant with a small dine-in facility of approximately 8 dining tables . The majority of our business comes from: Takeaway / Parcel Orders Zomato & Swiggy Online Orders Dine-in Customers – available but comparatively lower in volume Therefore, the Manager must be comfortable handling a fast-paced takeaway and online-order-focused restaurant operation . Job Overview We are looking for a responsible, energetic, and customer-focused General Hotel Manager to handle the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. The person should have excellent communication skills, good customer-handling abilities, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks during busy hours. Key Responsibilities Open the restaurant on time and ensure all operations are ready before business hours. Ensure the restaurant, kitchen, billing counter, and takeaway area are ready for operations. Manage the complete day-to-day restaurant operations. Handle a high volume of takeaway/parcel orders efficiently. Handle Zomato, Swiggy, and other online orders properly and ensure timely processing. Check online orders regularly and coordinate with the kitchen for preparation. Ensure every order is properly checked, packed, and handed over on time. Personally assist with packing and parcel preparation during rush hours whenever required. Welcome dine-in customers and assist them with seating. Take dine-in orders accurately and communicate them clearly to the kitchen. Handle customer calls and calls from Zomato, Swiggy, delivery partners, etc. Handle customer queries, requests, and complaints professionally. Maintain good communication and coordination with kitchen and service staff. Ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen, billing counter, takeaway counter, and delivery partners. Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and proper restaurant standards. Monitor order accuracy and prevent missing or incorrect items. Ensure timely opening and smooth daily operations. Identify operational problems and take appropriate action to resolve them. Computer & Digital Skills Basic computer knowledge is required. Ability to operate POS/billing systems . Ability to use Zomato, Swiggy, and other online ordering platforms . Basic knowledge of WhatsApp, email, and internet applications . Ability to use a computer/tablet/mobile for checking and managing orders. Basic knowledge of MS Excel or similar applications will be an advantage. Required Skills Excellent communication and customer service skills. Good English and Hindi communication; Marathi is an advantage. Good business communication and professional behaviour. Strong customer-handling skills. Good coordination with kitchen and restaurant staff. Ability to manage high-volume takeaway and online orders. Ability to work calmly and efficiently during rush hours. Multitasking and problem-solving abilities. Basic computer and digital skills. Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and hardworking. Positive attitude and willingness to actively participate in restaurant operations. Important Requirement This is an active hands-on restaurant operations role , not only a supervisory or desk job. The Manager should be ready to personally assist with takeaway/parcel packing, online orders, customer seating, order taking, billing/POS operations, customer service, delivery-partner coordination, and other restaurant activities whenever required. Experience 1-5 years of experience in restaurant, hotel, café, takeaway, cloud kitchen, or food-service operations preferred. Candidates with experience handling Zomato/Swiggy and high-volume takeaway orders will be preferred.
