Chef de Partie

Amar Khamar is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of “Chef de Partie”.

Responsibility to be taken

Designated as the assistant to the head chef or the head chef’s second in command, he/she should perform a range of duties such as

Assisting with menu planning,

Managing inventory, ordering and management of supplies.

Ensuring that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition.

Keeping stations clean and complying with food safety standards.

Working with the team and training juniors as needed.

Knowledge/Skill needed

Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment,

Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)

Cook food in various utensils or grillers,

Check food while cooking to stir or turn,

Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served,

Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen,

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly,

Check quality of ingredients,

Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages,

Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.),

Ability to work in a team,

Very good communication skills,

Experience

2-3 years’ of good quality working experience in above areas.
