Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer – Fabrication Shop with 3–4 years of experience in Heavy Industry / Fabrication / Engineering Manufacturing.

The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day fabrication shop activities, coordinating manpower and materials, monitoring production schedules, ensuring quality, and maintaining safe and efficient shop-floor operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on knowledge of fabrication, welding, sheet metal, cutting, bending, machining coordination, assembly, and industrial production processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesFabrication Shop Production

• Plan, monitor, and coordinate daily fabrication shop production activities.
• Ensure fabrication jobs are completed as per production schedules and drawings.
• Coordinate activities related to cutting, bending, drilling, welding, grinding, and assembly.
• Monitor shop-floor productivity and ensure production targets are achieved.
• Allocate jobs and coordinate with fabricators, welders, technicians, and operators.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate multiple fabrication jobs simultaneously.

Technical \& Drawing Interpretation

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Ensure fabrication activities are carried out according to drawings and required tolerances.
• Support preparation of fabrication-related work instructions and process requirements.
• Coordinate with Engineering for drawing clarifications and technical issues.
• Ensure correct dimensions, alignment, fitment, and assembly of fabricated components.

Welding \& Fabrication Operations

• Monitor MIG/MAG, TIG, ARC welding, gas cutting, grinding, drilling, and sheet-metal fabrication activities.
• Ensure correct welding procedures and parameters are followed.
• Monitor weld quality, joint preparation, fit-up, alignment, and finishing.
• Identify welding defects such as porosity, cracks, undercut, distortion, and incomplete fusion.
• Coordinate rectification and rework wherever required.
• Ensure proper handling of fabricated structures and components.

Production Planning \& Coordination

• Prepare and monitor daily/weekly production plans.
• Coordinate manpower, machines, materials, tools, and consumables.
• Track job progress and provide regular production updates.
• Coordinate with Stores for availability of raw materials, welding consumab
