Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Chess Coach to deliver structured chess lessons and help students improve their strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and competitive performance. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of chess fundamentals and advanced strategies, along with the ability to teach students of different age groups and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group chess coaching sessions for beginner and intermediate-level players.
• Prepare structured lesson plans, practice exercises, and training schedules.
• Teach chess rules, openings, tactical combinations, positional play, and endgame techniques.
• Assess students' playing abilities and develop personalized improvement plans.
• Organize practice games, chess puzzles, mock tournaments, and competitive training sessions.
• Track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Help students develop analytical thinking, concentration, decision-making, and sportsmanship.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and age groups.
• Communicate student progress with parents or program coordinators, where applicable.
• Encourage participation in chess competitions and support tournament preparation.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong knowledge of chess rules, openings, tactics, positional strategy, and endgames.
• 1–4 years of relevant chess coaching or playing experience.
• Ability to teach beginners and intermediate-level players effectively.
• Previous experience conducting individual and group coaching sessions is preferred.
• Patience and the ability to work with students across different age groups.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and student-management skills.
• A recognized chess rating, tournament participation, or coaching certification is an advantage.
• Good organizational skills and a passion for teaching chess.
