Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and proactive Purchase Officer to manage procurement activities, ensure the timely availability of materials, negotiate with suppliers, and control purchasing costs while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Handle daily purchase activities for raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and other mill requirements.

Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.

Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate for the best rates and payment terms.

Prepare and process purchase orders as per company requirements.

Coordinate with stores, production, maintenance, and accounts departments.

Ensure timely delivery of materials and follow up on pending orders.

Verify material specifications, quality, quantity, and delivery documents.

Maintain purchase records, vendor details, quotations, and invoices.

Monitor inventory requirements and avoid material shortages or excess stock.

Verify supplier bills and coordinate with the accounts department for payment processing.

Prepare purchase reports and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Ensure purchasing activities follow company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Any Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in purchase or procurement activities.

Experience in the textile or spinning mill industry is preferred.

Required Skills

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Good vendor management and coordination skills.

Knowledge of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and inventory.

Basic computer skills, including MS Excel and ERP/accounting software.

Good planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple purchasing activities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Candidate

A candidate with good market knowledge, supplier relationships, cost-control skills, and the ability to ensure uninterrupted material availability for mill operations.
