Vendor and supplier coordination

Request quotations from suppliers.

Compare price, quality, delivery time and payment terms.

Follow up on pending orders and delayed deliveries.

Maintain approved supplier contact details and price lists.

Inventory and stock management

Understand minimum stock, maximum stock, reorder levels and safety stock.

Track fast-moving and slow-moving ingredients.

Understand FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out).

Help prevent stockouts, overstocking and food wastage.

Purchase documentation

Prepare and track purchase orders (POs).

Verify quotations, invoices, delivery challans and goods received notes.

Check ordered quantities against delivered quantities.

Maintain accurate procurement records.

Food quality and safety awareness

Understand basic food hygiene and storage requirements.

Check expiry dates, packaging condition and product specifications.

Understand cold-chain requirements for chilled and frozen products.

Have basic awareness of FSSAI requirements in India.
