Job Overview

The Senior Engineer – BI Reporting & Analytics will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Tableau development, Tableau Cloud administration, SQL, and AWS analytics services to deliver scalable, high-quality dashboards and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate is a technically strong individual contributor with experience partnering with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

BI Development & Reporting

Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau.

Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

Develop and maintain semantic layers, datasets, and data models to support reporting needs.

Ensure consistent use of business metrics, KPIs, and data definitions across reporting solutions.

Optimize dashboard performance, usability, and user experience.

Support self-service analytics capabilities while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Tableau Cloud Administration

Manage and maintain Tableau Cloud environments, including content publishing, permissions, security, and governance.

Monitor platform usage, performance, and adoption.

Administer user access, groups, projects, and data source permissions.

Support Tableau Cloud upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, and operational activities.

Implement and maintain Tableau development and deployment best practices.

Data & Analytics Engineering

Develop and optimize SQL queries and reporting datasets.

Collaborate with data engineering teams to source, transform, and prepare data for analytics and reporting.

Utilize AWS services such as Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3, and Lambda to support reporting and analytics solutions.

Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and integration issues across reporting platforms.

Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable analytics architectures.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

Partner with business teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.

Participate in solution design, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing analytics and reporting solutions.

Governance & Data Quality

Ensure adherence to BI development standards, governance policies, and security requirements.

Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.

Maintain documentation for dashboards, data sources, metrics, and reporting processes.

Support compliance with organizational data privacy and security standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Analytics, or Data Engineering.

Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Development, including dashboard design, advanced visualizations, calculated fields, parameters, LOD expressions, and performance optimization.

Strong experience with Tableau Cloud Administration, including content publishing, governance, security, permissions, user management, and platform support.

Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.

Experience working with AWS analytics services such as Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3, and Lambda.

Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and reporting architecture.

Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferences

Experience with Snowflake, or modern cloud data platforms.

Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.

Exposure to predictive analytics, AI/ML, or advanced analytics solutions.

Experience working in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
