Position Overview

The Senior Executive – Engineering & Maintenance will be responsible for executing and supervising day-to-day maintenance activities across the University campus, including academic buildings, hostels, and common areas. The role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of building services, timely resolution of maintenance complaints, implementation of preventive maintenance schedules, adherence to safety standards, and effective coordination with technicians, vendors, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities across academic buildings, hostels, and common areas.

Attend, coordinate, and close maintenance complaints related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and civil works.

Support preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

Monitor the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, including LT panels, lighting, UPS, and DG sets.

Oversee the maintenance of HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and plumbing systems.

Monitor fire detection and firefighting systems and report any faults or abnormalities.

Technician & Contractor Supervision

Supervise technicians and outsourced staff to ensure quality work and compliance with safety standards.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repair works and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) activities.

Monitor the progress and completion of maintenance jobs.

Safety & Compliance

Conduct routine inspections, identify faults, and report abnormalities to the Manager – Engineering Services.

Ensure adherence to safety practices and applicable statutory requirements during maintenance activities.

Support audits, inspections, and campus engineering activities.

Documentation & Coordination

Maintain maintenance records, job cards, and service reports.

Assist with material requisitions, work permits, and coordination with procurement teams.

Coordinate with the Help Desk, Security, Administration, and Engineering teams to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

5–6 years of hands-on experience in engineering and maintenance operations.

Experience in educational institutions, residential campuses, hospitals, or large facilities will be preferred.

Practical exposure to MEP systems and facility maintenance activities.

Technical Skills

Good technical understanding of building services and maintenance systems.

Knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, pumps, motors, plumbing, and fire safety systems.

Understanding of preventive and breakdown maintenance procedures.

Basic computer skills, including MS Excel, email, and maintenance reporting.

Key Competencies

Strong coordination and supervision skills.

Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Ability to handle multiple maintenance issues simultaneously.

Effective communication and vendor coordination.

Willingness to work in shifts or be on call during emergencies.
