Assistant Manager-Warehouse Operations

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations including inbound receipt, storage, order processing, dispatch, and returns.

Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the warehouse as per food-grade warehousing norms.

Implement and maintain Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) including 5S, pest control, and routine cleaning schedules.

Enforce FIFO/FEFO practices for stock movement and shelf-life management.

Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts and periodic stock reconciliation.

Ensure the warehouse remains audit-ready at all times, adhering to food safety and documentation standards.

Coordinate directly with customers for dispatch schedules, priority shipments, issue resolution, and service updates.

Act as the front-end representative of warehouse operations in all customer interactions.

Demonstrate a proactive approach in identifying operational gaps and driving process improvements.

Monitor space utilization and optimize layout for efficient storage and picking.

Efficiently handle and lead a team of warehouse staff and supervisors, including manpower planning, shift allocation, and performance reviews.

Conduct regular training and ensure high levels of productivity, discipline, and engagement among the team.

Oversee the maintenance and safe use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Prepare and review daily MIS, KPIs, stock ageing, and exception reports.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as QA, logistics, procurement, and customer service for seamless operations.

Pay

₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
