Job Summary

We are seeking a Lathe Machine Operator with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in operating conventional/manual lathes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precise turning operations on various metal components, ensuring product quality and machine efficiency as per production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional lathe machines to perform turning, facing, threading, boring, and tapering operations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feed rates for different materials.
• Accurately measure and inspect finished products using micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and other gauges.
• Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish as per specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of lathe machines to ensure smooth operation.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor issues related to tools, machine settings, or workpieces.
• Maintain production records and assist in reporting any quality issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and manufacturing procedures on the shop floor.

Required Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Turner, or Machinist trade.
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience operating lathe machines in a manufacturing/engineering setup.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of machine maintenance and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, fabrication, or precision engineering industries.
• Familiarity with other machines like milling, drilling, or grinding is an added advantage.
• Willingness to work in shifts if required.
