About this job

About the role

You'll lead our Next.js frontend team. You'll own frontend architecture and guide a team of developers. You'll work closely with the Backend team to make sure integrations are well designed and delivered independently.

What you'll do

Own frontend architecture, standards and technical decisions for our Next.js applications.

Build scalable, performant and accessible web features.

Work with the Backend team on API design, data flows and system requirements.

Lead code reviews, mentor the frontend team, and assign and guide technical work with the TPM.

Drive improvements in performance, SEO, Core Web Vitals and developer experience.

Work with Design to turn designs into polished, responsive interfaces.

Take part in the senior on-call rotation, including international paging.

What we're looking for

6+ years of frontend development, with 3+ years of hands-on Next.js work.

Expert knowledge of React, TypeScript and modern Next.js (App Router, server components, SSR/SSG/ISR).

Strong grasp of frontend architecture, state management, caching and performance optimisation.

Solid experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs and handling authentication.

Experience leading or mentoring frontend developers.

Excellent communication skills. You should be able to work through API contracts and requirements clearly with backend and mobile teams.

Experience working with AI tools for development, and a willingness to integrate AI into the SDLC

Note: Full-stack experience is a strong plus but not mandatory. A strong frontend specialist who works effectively with the Backend team is a great fit.

Nice to have

Backend experience with Django.

Experience with Vercel, CI/CD and frontend testing (for example Playwright or Jest).

Familiarity with React Native.

Familiarity with US front-end compliance requirements, such as WCAG2.2
