About this job

About the role

You'll own React Native development at the company. You'll lead our mobile app from architecture through to App Store and Play Store releases, and you'll mentor a Junior React Native Developer. You'll work closely with the Backend team on APIs and integrations, so clear communication across teams is essential.

What you'll do

Own the architecture, code quality and technical direction of our React Native (Expo) apps.

Build and maintain high-quality, performant features for iOS and Android.

Manage the full release cycle
builds, signing, versioning, OTA updates, store submissions, and handling review feedback.

Work with the Backend team to define API contracts, data needs and integration approaches.

Mentor the Junior React Native Developer through code reviews, pairing and guidance along with the TPM.

Work with Design to turn designs into polished mobile experiences.

Take part in the senior on-call rotation, including international paging.

What we're looking for

6+ years of mobile development, with 3+ years of hands-on React Native work.

Strong TypeScript/JavaScript and solid knowledge of React.

Proven experience shipping and maintaining apps on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Experience with Expo and EAS (Expo Application Services), native modules, push notifications, deep linking, and performance tuning.

Solid understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication and state management.

Experience leading or mentoring other developers.

Excellent communication skills. You should be able to discuss requirements and trade-offs clearly with backend, web and design teams.

Experience working with AI tools for development, and a willingness to integrate AI into the SDLC

Note: Full-stack experience is a strong plus but not mandatory. If you're an excellent mobile specialist who works well with backend engineers, we want to hear from you.

Nice to have

Backend experience with Django.

Experience with Next.js or sharing code between web and mobile.

Experience with app analytics and crash monitoring tools (for example Sentry or PostHog).
