S.T.O.R.M. is a Vijayawada-based engineering and contracting firm working in industrial maintenance, construction and turnkey fit-out projects for industrial, corporate and government clients. Our work includes pre-engineered steel buildings, process platforms, stainless steel access structures, Puf Panel Cabins.

Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Foreman to lead our fabrication and erection crews on site. You will turn drawings into finished structures safely, on time and to quality standards, and coordinate with our engineering team, external fabricators and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead site teams of fitters, welders, riggers and helpers for fabrication, erection and installation work
• Erect pre-engineered (PEB) clear-span industrial sheds, including portal frames, purlins, bracing and GI roof and wall sheeting
• Install EOT crane gantry girders, brackets and crane rails, and support crane alignment and commissioning
• Fabricate and erect MS platforms, walkways and equipment supports, including SS304 chequered plate decking and agitator/tank support structures
• Install SS316 and MS staircases, handrails, rooftop lifeline access ladders and guardrails
• Install PUF-panel cold rooms and cool rooms, including panel joints, doors, vision windows and sealing
• Supervise aluminium and GI framing for structural glazing and toughened-glass façades
• Supervise dismantling and demolition of steel and RCC structures safely
• Read and interpret GA drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings and BBS, and raise RFIs where needed
• Check incoming material (sections, plates, SS sheets, fasteners, panels) against BOQ and drawings
• Ensure weld quality, bolt torquing, plumb, level and alignment; maintain inspection checklists
• Enforce site safety: work at height, lifting and rigging, hot work permits, and PPE
• Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, and material consumption logs
• Measure completed work and support preparation of running bills
• Coordinate with external fabricators, CNC/laser-cutting vendors and client site engineers

Requirements

• ITI (Fitter / Welder) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10 years of site experience in structural steel, PEB or industrial fabrication work
• Strong drawing-reading skills (structural and fabrication drawings)
• Working knowledge of MS and stainless steel (SS304 / SS316\) welding and finishing
• Experience with cranes, chain blocks, scaffolding and safe rigging practices
• Ability to manage and motivate a crew of 10–25 workers
• Basic computer skills for reports (MS Excel / WhatsApp reporting)
• Willingness to travel and stay at project sites in Andhra Pradesh \& Telangana
• Languages: Telugu, Hindi and basic English preferred

Preferred (Added Advantage)

• Experience with EOT crane installation
• Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical or process plant environments
• Exposure to cold room / PUF panel installation
• Industrial maintenance or shutdown work experience
• Safety training certificate (work at height, rigging)
