The Opportunity

Nutanix, a leader in enterprise hybrid cloud, is looking to hire a curious and innovative SDET with experience in automation development and execution to qualify our Data Hub product/features. The role is tasked with test planning, test case development, and test execution strategy to assess and improve the overall quality of our products in the AI/ML area. This requires close collaboration with Development, UI/UX engineers, and the PM team. The role encompasses influencing product design by leveraging broad knowledge of the product portfolio and ensuring a quality-first mindset.

Nutanix Data Hub (NDH) team

Nutanix Data Hub (NDH) offers our customers simplicity and ease of use to build and grow their AI/ML adoption faster and realize rapid ROI, by providing intelligent operations, self service and orchestration, visibility and governance of spend, security and teams, all through a unified Multi-cloud management solution. The AI/ML platform ensures that any enterprise data used by AI systems is clean, safe, compliant, and reliable. The system should manage the complete AI data lifecycle, including ingestion, curation, governance, quality, and delivery to AI systems. The end goal of the system is that all data must pass permission checks, quality validation, and PII sanitization before entering vector databases (for performing semantic searches) or for Large Language Model (LLM) training. NDH also enhances financial accountability, offering cost governance, resource optimization, and clear cloud metering and chargeback visibility. Moreover, it unifies security operations across clouds, automating incident response through intelligent analysis and compliance tools.

Your Role

• Develop test plan design and test case development for performance, load & scale testing of NDH products.

• Define automation plan and test strategy within release timelines.

• End-to-end product quality ownership with all aspects of the test, automation, and delivery of the feature set at scale.

• Improve existing automated tests and overall automated test execution efficiency.

• Maintain a high overall quality index(QI) for the product/features at all times.

• Ability to delve deeper into debugging product issues with development engineers.

• Involve providing active feedback to improve the overall product experience.

• Debugging, filing bugs, and tracking them to closure.

The role involves performing duties requiring the application of professional expertise and the exercise of independent judgment/discretion, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making in carrying out responsibilities, as applicable to the position. What will you bring

• Minimum of 4+yrs-7yrs of experience in QA(System Test), Automation using Python (python preferred)

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.

• In depth working knowledge of Linux system interactions and Distributed Systems

• Deeper understanding of SW platform performance, load, scaling features.

• Deeper understanding of KS8 platform performance, load, scaling features.

• Experience with Python API test framework development.

• Working knowledge of virtualization - VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V

• Familiarity with version control systems such as GIT, build management tools, and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins/CircleCI

• Testing experience with monitoring/cloud products is a plus

• Detail-oriented, self-driven, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Hello, this is Subu TK! I joined Nutanix almost 10 years ago and worked with several teams and roles during this time. I had been tech lead for the Nutanix Files QA team for several years, before taking over the responsibility of managing and owning the NDH QA team end-to-end. During my tenure at Nutanix, I got a wonderful opportunity to qualify/automate several key projects starting from NFS Server, SMB Server, RBAC, API, and Tiering. Also I was involved in defining CICD workflow and building tools to automate the entire process.
