Technical Product Manager

Windchill AI Infrastructure | Pune, India

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically strong and execution-oriented Principal Technical Product Manager to help define and deliver the next generation of Windchill AI capabilities, including AI Assistants, AI Agents, MCP Servers, semantic models and the underlying AI platform services that power intelligent experiences across the Windchill portfolio.

The primary responsibility of this role is to translate product vision, customer needs, and business objectives into a clear, prioritized, and executable backlog for one or more Agile development teams. Working closely with Product Managers, customers, R&D, architects, UX, Quality Assurance, Technical Publications, Customer Success, and field organizations, the TPM serves as the bridge between product strategy and technical implementation.

Success in this role requires a strong understanding of Windchill, experience with AI-powered solutions such as prompts, skills, agents, and enterprise integrations, and the ability to transform complex business and technical requirements into high-quality capabilities that deliver measurable customer value.

What You Will Do

The responsibilities below represent a superset of the work this role may perform. Actual day-to-day focus will vary based on product priorities, release objectives, customer needs, and organizational initiatives.

  • Partner with Windchill AI R&D teams to define, prioritize, and maintain executable product backlogs.
  • Translate customer needs, business objectives, and AI use cases into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans.
  • Own TPM execution for assigned capabilities through discovery, planning, development, validation, and release.
  • Define and deliver capabilities for Windchill MCP Servers and Change AI Agents, including AI-assisted Problem Report creation, Problem Report triage and duplicate detection, Change Impact Analysis, and future agent-based solutions.
  • Work closely with Product Management, customers, architects, and engineering teams to understand workflows and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, PI planning, story acceptance, and release readiness activities.
  • Drive alignment across Product Management, R&D, Architecture, UX, QA, Technical Publications, Customer Success, and field organizations.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops, technical investigations, and design spikes to validate requirements and solution approaches.
  • Partner with QA to define expected behavior, review test coverage, and validate delivered functionality.
  • Collaborate with Technical Publications to ensure capabilities and workflows are effectively documented.
  • Support customer engagements, field enablement, and release communications by explaining functionality, gathering feedback, and incorporating insights into future priorities.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities early, balancing immediate delivery needs with longer-term product strategy.
  • Continuously strengthen expertise in Windchill, AI technologies, agent architectures, MCP integrations, prompt design, and product management practices.

Growth Opportunities

As experience and organizational responsibilities expand, the TPM will evolve from team-level backlog ownership into broader technical and strategic leadership across the Windchill AI portfolio.

  • Lead initiatives that span multiple products, technologies, and development teams.
  • Help define the vision and strategy for Windchill AI technologies and platform capabilities.
  • Become a recognized expert influencing product direction through customer, industry, and technology insights.
  • Represent Windchill AI in customer, partner, and executive engagements.
  • Mentor other TPMs and establish best practices across the organization.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and investment decisions for the future of AI within Windchill.

Skills and Knowledge

Required

  • Strong knowledge of Windchill business processes and customer workflows, particularly in CAD Data Management, Part and Configuration Management, and Change Management.
  • Experience gathering customer requirements and translating business needs into executable Agile backlogs.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and manage epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, technical requirements, and release deliverables.
  • Experience prioritizing backlogs and performing story, feature, or release acceptance.
  • Working knowledge of Scrum, Agile planning, backlog refinement, and iterative software delivery.
  • Ability to understand complex technical designs, dependencies, integrations, and architectural tradeoffs.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product Management, R&D, Architecture, UX, QA, Technical Publications, Customer Success, and field organizations.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment across globally distributed teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline..

Preferred

  • Experience with Windchill AI capabilities, AI Assistants, AI Agents, MCP Servers, enterprise search, or semantic information models.
  • Practical experience developing or defining AI-powered solutions, including prompts, skills, agents, retrieval workflows, or LLM-based applications.
