About this job
- Operate conventional lathe machines to perform turning, facing, threading, boring, drilling, taper turning, and related machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and machining instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and work-holding devices for machining operations.
- Measure and inspect finished components using vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ensure components meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
- Perform machine setup, workpiece alignment, tool setting, and routine adjustments.
- Identify machining defects and take corrective action to minimize rejection and rework.
- Maintain machines, tools, and the workplace in good operating condition.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping as per 5S standards.
- Coordinate with the production and quality teams to achieve production targets and delivery schedules.
- Report machine breakdowns, tool wear, and other operational issues to the supervisor.
