VMC Machine Operator

VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring CNC vertical machining machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor VMC machines for machining operations.

Read and understand engineering drawings and machining dimensions.

Perform component loading, unloading, and setting.

Set tools, workpieces, and fixtures as per job requirements.

Check and adjust machine offsets and tool wear.

Perform basic CNC program loading and editing when required.

Monitor machining operations and maintain production quality.

Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

Follow safety procedures and maintain workplace cleanliness.

Perform basic machine maintenance and report machine problems.

Required Skills

Knowledge of VMC machine operation.

Basic knowledge of CNC programming (G-code and M-code).

Ability to read engineering drawings.

Knowledge of measuring instruments.

Understanding of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.

Knowledge of machining processes and quality inspection.

Good problem-solving and attention to detail.

Qualifications

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience in CNC/VMC machine operation is preferred.

Freshers with basic CNC knowledge may also apply.

Salary

12,000 to 20,000
