Chartered Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant (Fresher) to join our Finance \& Accounts department. The candidate will gain exposure to corporate finance, financial reporting, accounting operations, taxation, trade finance and business finance management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting \& Reporting

• Assist in preparation and finalisation of financial statements, Balance Sheets and Profit \& Loss Accounts.

• Perform ledger scrutiny, bank reconciliation and intercompany reconciliations.

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities.

• Prepare MIS reports and management financial statements.

• Analyse financial data and identify discrepancies.

Import \& Trade Finance Operations

• Assist in accounting of import transactions and foreign currency payments.

• Support documentation and accounting related to Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees and other trade finance instruments.

• Assist in reconciliation of overseas supplier accounts.

• Monitor import-related expenses, including freight, customs duty, port charges and other associated costs.

• Assist in tracking foreign exchange fluctuations and their accounting impact.

Taxation \& Statutory Compliance

• Assist in GST returns, reconciliations and Input Tax Credit (ITC) verification.

• Support TDS computation, returns and related compliance.

• Assist in Income Tax assessments, tax audits and statutory requirements.

• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with applicable tax regulations.

Audit \& Internal Financial Controls

• Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors.

• Assist in preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.

• Review accounting entries and supporting documents.

• Assist in strengthening internal financial controls and accounting procedures.

Business Finance \& Analysis

• Assist in monitoring working capital, cash flow and fund utilisation.

• Analyse vendor payments, customer receivables and outstanding balances.

• Support budgeting, cost analysis and financial planning.

• Monitor business expenses across corporate and port operations.

Desired Skills \& Competencies

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Basic knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and statutory compliance.

• Good analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle or Tally).

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Candidate Profile

• Newly qualified Chartered Accountant from ICAI.

• Freshers or candidates with up to one year of post-qualification experience.

• Candidates with articleship exposure in statutory audit, internal audit, taxation or corporate finance will be preferred.

• Exposure to manufacturing, commodity trading, import-export or logistics businesses will be an added advantage.
