Prepare and cook food items as per standard recipes and kitchen specifications. Handle preparation and cooking of Continental, Italian, Tandoor and Chinese dishes. Assist in daily kitchen operations, including mise-en-place, food preparation and plating. Ensure consistency in taste, quality, presentation and portion sizes. Follow instructions from the Head Chef / Sous Chef and maintain timely food preparation. Maintain food quality and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen. Ensure proper handling, storage and rotation of food ingredients. Monitor freshness and quality of raw materials and report shortages to the senior chef. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, workstations and storage areas. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices and food safety guidelines. Minimise food wastage and ensure efficient utilisation of ingredients. Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth and timely food service. Handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly. Support menu preparation, new dish trials and special food requirements. Ensure adherence to company SOPs and food safety standards.
