Job Description
Mariner Engineering Pvt Ltd is recruiting skilled and experienced Marine Fabricators / Fitters for its ongoing and upcoming shipbuilding, ship repair, marine accommodation outfitting and offshore engineering projects across India.
Selected candidates will be primarily responsible for the installation, alignment, fitting and securing of marine steel doors, watertight doors, fire-rated doors, steel windows, portholes and associated structural fittings on ship bulkheads, deckhouses and marine accommodation structures.
Key Responsibilities
Install marine steel doors, fire-rated doors (A0/A60), watertight and weathertight doors, steel windows and portholes as per approved drawings.
Carry out site measurements, marking, levelling, alignment and preparation of door and window openings.
Position, align and secure steel door frames, window frames and associated mounting structures.
Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, tack welding and minor steel fabrication works as required for installation.
Fabricate and install steel angles, flat bars, brackets, stiffeners and reinforcement supports.
Check door frame squareness, clearances, hinges, locking arrangements and proper opening/closing operations.
Install associated fittings, hinges, locking devices, gaskets and sealing arrangements as required.
Carry out necessary adjustments and rectification works to achieve proper alignment, sealing and finishing.
Coordinate with project welders for final welding and fixing of door/window frames.
Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements and site safety procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Relevant hands-on experience as a Marine Fabricator, Structural Fitter or Steel Fabricator.
Previous experience in shipyards, shipbuilding, ship repair or offshore projects preferred.
Practical experience in installing marine steel doors, windows, hatches or similar fabricated structures will be an advantage.
Ability to read basic fabrication and installation drawings.
Good knowledge of measuring, marking, cutting, grinding, drilling, alignment and fit-up techniques.
Familiarity with welding preparation, tack welding and standard fabrication tools.
Ability to work independently and maintain dimensional accuracy.
Willingness to work at different project locations across India.
Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) mandatory for eligible candidates.
Immediate joiners preferred.
Salary & Benefits
Starting salary of ₹25,000 per month upwards, negotiable based on experience and trade skills.
- Standard working hours
- 8 hours per day.
Minimum 2 additional hours of overtime per working day, subject to project requirements.
Overtime payment as per applicable statutory requirements.
ESI and PF benefits as applicable.
Company-provided accommodation for assignments outside Kerala.
