Staff Nurse - Occupational Health Centre (OHC) - Industrial

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Nurse to run the Occupational Health Centre (OHC) at an industrial site. You will deliver first aid, emergency care, and preventive health services to the workforce, while maintaining statutory medical records and coordinating with the SIMS Vadapalani medical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and immediate emergency care for workplace injuries and medical emergencies
• Assist the Occupational Health Medical Officer in OPD consultations and treatment
• Record vitals (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO₂, RBS) and screen employees at the OHC
• Administer medications, injections, dressings, and IV therapy as prescribed
• Assist with pre-employment, periodic, and annual medical examinations
• Coordinate ambulance transfers
• Maintain OHC records, registers, and medication and consumable stock, with accurate documentation
• Ensure the OHC and first-aid boxes are stocked, clean, and audit-ready
• Support health awareness programmes, vaccination drives, and health camps
• Follow infection control, biomedical waste management, and safety protocols
• Report injuries, illnesses, and trends to the Medical Officer and plant management
• Support compliance with applicable industrial health and safety requirements

Qualifications

• GNM or B.Sc Nursing from a recognised institution
• Valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (industrial/OHC or emergency/casualty experience preferred)

Skills and Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) / first-aid certification preferred
• Good knowledge of emergency nursing procedures and documentation
• Ability to work independently at a site with minimal supervision
• Good communication in Tamil and basic English or Hindi
• Professional, calm, and responsible approach to emergencies
