We are looking for an Online Sales Pharmacist to join our Chennai team and manage customers from medicine enquiry and prescription verification through order confirmation and movement.

About the Role

As an Online Sales Pharmacist, you will be responsible for handling customer enquiries, checking prescriptions, understanding medicine requirements, assisting customers with order placement and processing, and ensuring that enquiries are converted into successful orders.

This is a customer-facing sales and pharmacy operations role. You will interact with customers primarily through phone calls and online channels and work closely with internal teams to ensure orders move smoothly from enquiry to fulfilment. Good pharmacy knowledge and strong communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription \& Pharmacy Support

• Review and verify prescriptions as per company SOPs and applicable pharmacy requirements.
• Check medicine name, strength, dosage, quantity, prescription validity and other relevant details, applying sound pharmacy knowledge.
• Clarify prescription-related requirements with customers when required.
• Identify discrepancies or issues and escalate them to the appropriate team.
• Ensure prescription-related information is handled accurately and confidentially.

Customer Handling \& Order Placement

• Handle inbound customer enquiries through calls and online channels.
• Understand the customer’s medicine requirement and guide them through the right ordering process.
• Interact with customers to place orders, explaining medicine availability, pricing, delivery timelines and order-related information.
• Convert customer enquiries and leads into confirmed orders.
• Follow up with customers on pending prescriptions, quotations, payments and incomplete orders.
• Reconnect with customers where an order has not been completed and understand the reason for drop-off.
• Maintain regular follow-up until the order is successfully confirmed or appropriately closed.

Order Processing \& Movement

• Take ownership of assigned orders from enquiry / prescription stage through order confirmation.
• Process orders accurately in the CRM / order management system.
• Coordinate with pharmacy, procurement, warehouse, logistics and other internal teams to ensure smooth order movement.
• Track pending orders and proactively follow up on delays or issues.
• Communicate order status and expected timelines to customers.
• Ensure orders are moved within the defined TAT.
• Support resolution of issues related to availability, prescription, payment, delivery or order processing.

Sales \& Performance

• Achieve assigned sales, order conversion, revenue and productivity targets.
• Improve conversion of enquiries into confirmed orders through effective communication and follow-up.
• Maintain strong follow-up discipline on open leads and pending orders.
• Identify opportunities for repeat orders and customer retention.
• Maintain accurate customer and order information in the CRM / order management system.

Customer Experience

• Provide clear, accurate and professional communication to patients and caregivers in English and Hindi.
• Handle customer concerns and objections effectively.
• Build trust through timely updates and ownership of customer issues.
• Ensure customers receive a smooth experience throughout the ordering journey.

What We're Looking For

• B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognized institution.
• Registered Pharmacist, wherever applicable.
• 1+ year of experience in an online pharmacy, retail pharmacy, healthcare customer support, inside sales or a similar environment.
• Good pharmacy knowledge, including medicines, dosage forms and prescription requirements.
• Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English and Hindi.
• Comfortable with order processing and interacting with customers for order placement.
• Sales orientation with strong follow-up discipline and ownership.
