Position Overview: As a Sr. Staff/Principal Hardware Engineer at Netradyne, will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, validation and production readiness of complex electronic hardware products. The role requires deep expertise in embedded hardware design, high-speed interfaces, power electronics, signal and power integrity, PCB design, component selection, EMC/EMI, reliability, and design-for-manufacturing. As Principal Engineer need to lead and mentor the team and provide technical direction across programs, lead critical design reviews, resolve complex system-level issues, and establish engineering practices that improve product quality, reliability, and development efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Define system and board-level hardware architectures based on product and system requirements, Lead schematic, PCB-layout, design-readiness reviews. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to hardware engineers.
Own hardware design from concept through schematic design, PCB layout, prototype bring-up, validation, qualification, and production release.
Develop and review designs involving CPU, LPDDR5/5x, MIPI-CSI/DSI, SDIO, eMMC/UFS, PCIe, USB, FGPA/CPLD, LDO, SMPS, POL , Industry Standard buses (I2C, SPI, UART, PDM for DMICs, I2S and CAN) and SerDes technologies such as FPD-Link and GMSL
Perform engineering calculations including power budgets, timing margins, component derating and interface analysis.
Drive signal-integrity and power-integrity requirements for complex PCB designs and define high-speed routing constraints, impedance requirements, stack-ups and critical-layout guidelines.
Review termination, crosstalk, return-path, grounding and power-distribution strategies. Identify and resolve EMI/EMC, ESD, transient, grounding and noise-related issues.
Identify technical risks early and drive mitigation plans.
Establish hardware design guidelines, checklists and reusable reference designs.
Develop board bring-up and hardware-validation plans. Debug complex hardware using laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, Protocol analyzers, Spectrum analyzers, Network analyzers, electronic loads and programmable power supplies
Diagnose hardware, firmware and system-interaction issues and drive them to root cause.
Define hardware validation strategies covering functional, electrical, environmental and reliability requirements. Establish measurable acceptance criteria and design margins.
Support environmental, EMC, ESD and electrical-transient testing and Analyze failures and drive corrective/preventive actions.
Drive DFM, DFA, DFT and Design-for-Reliability requirements. Collaborate wit manufacturing and test engineering during NPI and production ramp. Resolve prototype and production issues using structured root-cause methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone and 8D. Support yield improvement and engineering change activities.
Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams like BSP, Application, Systems, Mechanical, PCB, Quality, Component, Manufacturing, Reliability, Supply Chain, Semiconductor and Technology partners
Design experience in QCOM, NVIDIA platform will be added advantage.
Hands-on experience on Field installed system debugging for products.
Understanding of cellular technologies like GSM, LTE, 5G etc.
Awareness and hardware development for Automotive standards.
Mandatory Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Typically, 12+ years of relevant hardware product-development experience, with significant ownership of technically complex designs.
Strong knowledge of analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit design.
Strong knowledge of power-supply design and power architecture.
Experience with multilayer PCB design, HDI and high-speed interfaces.
Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, EMI/EMC and ESD.
Demonstrated experience taking hardware through the complete product lifecycle: requirements → architecture → design → prototype → validation → qualification → production.
Strong hands-on hardware debugging and root-cause-analysis capability.
Ability to independently lead technically complex designs and influence engineering decisions across teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience with automotive or other high-reliability embedded electronics or AI Processors.
Experience with camera, vision, infotainment, telematics, ADAS or domain-controller hardware.
Experience with high-speed SerDes and MIPI-based video architecture.
