Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET), R&D Design

We are looking for a hands-on Graduate Engineer Trainee who wants to build a career in product design and development. You will work in our R\&D team and take ideas from first sketch to tested prototype. Design is the core of this role, supported by practical work in the workshop and with suppliers.

What you’ll do

Design (primary focus)

• Create 3D part and assembly models in SolidWorks for new products and improvements.
• Design sheet metal components, including flat patterns, bends, reliefs and forming features.
• Build surface models for complex shapes such as housings, covers and flow parts.
• Prepare complete manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, GD\&T, a bill of materials and revision control.
• Support design reviews, design changes and documentation.

R\&D support work

• Find and evaluate vendors for machined, fabricated, cast and bought-out parts. Request quotes and follow up on deliveries.
• Coordinate prototype manufacturing with the workshop and external suppliers.
• Inspect parts using measuring instruments and report deviations.
• Help with prototype assembly, testing and recording results.

What we’re looking for

Must have

• A strong grip on SolidWorks: part modelling, assemblies, sheet metal, surfacing and drawings.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and fits.
• Knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, grinding, welding, sheet metal cutting and bending.
• Ability to use measuring tools: vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, dial indicator, bore gauge and thread or radius gauges.
• Willingness to work on the shop floor as well as at the desk.

Good to have

• CSWA / CSWP certification.
• A final-year project, internship or competition (SAE, Baja, Formula Student, etc.) involving design and fabrication.
• Basic knowledge of FEA / simulation or GD\&T.
• Familiarity with materials, heat treatment and surface finishes.

Pay

₹150,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
