Senior Plant Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication

About us: M/s Pooja Enterprises supplies and fabricates structural steel for infrastructure, power, solar, railway and industrial projects. Our fabrication shop is at Ankurhati / Dhulagari, Howrah, West Bengal.

Role: Senior Plant Manager – Structural Steel Fabrication. You will be responsible for the entire factory, A to Z: production, people, attendance, quality coordination, materials, maintenance, dispatch and daily reporting to management.

Responsibilities

• Own all factory operations and the production plan from order receipt to dispatch
• Plan daily and weekly production from drawings, BOQs and delivery commitments; track output against plan
• Manage all shop-floor manpower: fitters, welders, gas cutters, grinders, helpers and supervisors; daily attendance, overtime, leave and contractor labour records
• Coordinate with purchase/stores for raw material and consumables, with QA/QC for inspections and rectifications, and with accounts and transporters for dispatch and documents
• Plan cutting lists and nesting to minimise scrap; control consumables and power use
• Machine and tool maintenance planning; minimise breakdowns
• Enforce safety, PPE, housekeeping and 5S across the factory
• Daily production, attendance and dispatch MIS to management; flag delays early

Requirements

• 10+ years in structural steel fabrication, with at least 3–5 years as plant manager, works manager or production head
• Proven experience running a full fabrication factory, not only a section of it
• Strong reading of GA and fabrication drawings
• Experience handling 30+ workers and contract labour
• Diploma/BE Mechanical or Civil preferred
• Experience in PEB, transmission towers, poles or plant structures is an advantage
• Hindi and Bengali; working English for reports

Location

Ankurhati / Dhulagari, Howrah (work from our shop/office; you must be able to travel here daily).
