About Satellogic

Satellogic is a vertically integrated Earth Observation satellite and data company. We design, manufacture, and operate our own fleet of satellites, the Aleph-1 constellation, which delivers high-frequency, high-resolution imagery plus full-motion video.

Earth Observation imagery and data are key to monitoring change at scale, informing critical decisions, and ultimately helping solve the world’s most pressing problems. Our mission is to democratize access to this information, making it affordable and available for those who need it across a wide range of industries, from climate monitoring and agriculture, to energy, infrastructure and many more. We want to do our part in building a world where every organization is prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.

With a growing team of more than 190 employees spanning 4 countries, Satellogic is a diverse group of purpose-driven professionals across software development, satellite engineering, operations, data science, manufacturing, and sales. We are excited to grow and welcome team members who push the limits, get things done, and never stop learning—all while being humble, honest, and empathetic.

About the team

The IT team at Satellogic delivers reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions to support the company's mission and day-to-day operations.

We are responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the infrastructure, platforms, and services that enable business continuity, operational efficiency, and security.

Our team manages a diverse technology environment, combining on-premise/cloud infrastructure, different Operating systems, containerized workloads, monitoring platforms, and internal services.

About the position

We’re looking for a Platform Engineer with a strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset to help ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud infrastructure and internal platforms.

You’ll play a key role in improving our AWS and Kubernetes environments through monitoring, observability, automation, and proactive reliability engineering. This includes building meaningful dashboards, improving alerting, troubleshooting production incidents, and identifying opportunities to prevent recurring issues.

The role combines hands-on platform engineering and continuous infrastructure improvement with production reliability responsibilities, including incident response and participation in scheduled on-call rotations.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, takes ownership of production reliability, and continuously improves systems through automation, standardization, and operational best practices.

Location

We are looking for a Platform Engineer based in the Philippines or India to strengthen our global infrastructure operations and support production systems across different time zones.

Responsibilities

Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, responding to critical alerts and production incidents when required.

Investigate and troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

Collaborate with global engineering and operations teams to improve infrastructure resilience and operational best practices.

Design, review, and deploy reliable and scalable cloud-native architectures.

Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Monitor and optimize production systems to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.

Manage and continuously improve AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, and Elasticsearch environments.

Build and enhance monitoring dashboards, observability, logging, and alerting capabilities to proactively detect and prevent issues.

About you

Experience

4 + years of experience in SRE, Cloud engineering or Platform engineering roles.

Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.

Solid experience with AWS, particularly infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and operations.

Hands-on experience investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving production incidents.

Practical experience with incident management, on-call rotations, escalation processes, and root cause analysis.

Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.

Proficiency in Helm for managing deployments.

Hand-on experience using AI tools such as Github copilot to support development, automation and infrastructure operations.

Good networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VPCs, firewalls, routing, and load balancers.

Proven experience with Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats), including administration, troubleshooting, and upgrades.

What we value

Experience building event-driven architectures

Familiarity with SRE practices, including Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and incident postmortems.

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Passion for automation, learning, and continuous improvement.

Diversity Commitment

Satellogic values diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer. We are convinced that hiring and developing top talent from around the world for any given discipline will drive innovation, generate new solutions, and deliver a superior product to our global customer base. We work to build an equitable and inclusive environment in which all people, regardless of gender, race, religion, or background, can come together to do their best work.
