Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintenance \& Repair: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment, including machinery, control systems (PLC, SCADA), and instrumentation.

• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical faults, equipment failures, and system issues to prevent downtime.

• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to proactively avoid problems and ensure continuous operation.

• Safety \& Compliance: Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and environmental rules.

• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition.

• Technical Support: Provide technical guidance, training, and supervision to maintenance technicians and junior engineers.

• Inventory Management: Manage and track inventory of spare electrical parts and components, ordering as needed.

• Documentation \& Reporting: Generate maintenance reports for management and investigate the root causes of failures to implement preventative measures.

• System Improvement: Assist in the installation of new equipment and contribute to the development of reliability programs to improve equipment lifespan.

Skills \& Qualifications

• Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, though some roles may accept an associate's degree or equivalent experience.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, control systems (PLC, SCADA), fault finding, and the maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills to identify and implement solutions for electrical issues.

• Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team with good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Computer Skills: Strong computer skills for operating systems and managing maintenance data.
