Staff nurse

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• Monitor vital signs and observe patient condition; report any abnormalities to the concerned doctor.
• Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, and emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
• Ensure infection control practices and maintain cleanliness of patient care areas.
• Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment, medications, and post-care instructions.
• Follow hospital policies, nursing protocols, and ethical standards.
• Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
• Handle medical equipment safely and report any malfunction.
• Participate in continuous nursing education and training programs.

Duties in Emergency / Critical Situations

• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide life-saving nursing care.
• Assist in CPR and emergency procedures as per protocol.
• Coordinate with doctors and other departments during emergencies.

Experience

• 1–3 years experience in hospital (ICU/Emergency/Ward preferred)
