JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Role

To support the Asst. F&B Manager in planning and executing meetings, conferences, weddings, social events and other functions, ensuring excellent service, smooth operations, guest satisfaction and effective cost control.

Key Responsibilities

Banquet Operations

Assist in planning and executing all banquet events.

Ensure function rooms are prepared according to the event requirements.

Supervise setup, service and breakdown of events.

Ensure correct seating arrangements, table setups and service standards.

Coordinate with Kitchen, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping and other departments.

Review Banquet Event Orders and communicate requirements to the team.

Ensure timely food and beverage service.

Guest Experience

Welcome event organisers and guests.

Understand event requirements and special requests.

Handle guest concerns professionally and ensure prompt resolution.

Monitor service throughout the event.

Obtain feedback and identify improvement opportunities.

Team Management

Allocate duties and responsibilities to banquet colleagues.

Conduct pre-event briefings.

Monitor grooming, discipline and service standards.

Coach and guide team members.

Support training and development of colleagues.

Cost & Inventory

Control wastage and ensure appropriate use of food, beverage and operating supplies.

Monitor banquet equipment and inventory.

Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment.

Support achievement of departmental financial targets.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.

Follow fire and life safety procedures.

Ensure safe setup and movement of banquet equipment.

Follow IHG standards, hotel SOPs and statutory requirements.

What We Need From You

Education

Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management or a related field.

Experience

3–5 years of F&B experience.

Previous banquet/event experience is preferred.

Supervisory experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is desirable.

Technical Knowledge

Banquet setup and event operations.

BEO understanding and event coordination.

Food and beverage service.

Basic cost and inventory control.

Food safety and hygiene standards.

Personal Competencies

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Excellent event coordination ability.

Guest-focused and service-oriented.

Good attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure.

Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
