Chef – Gujarati Cuisine

The Gujarat Cafe is looking for a motivated and passionate Chef to join our team. The role involves preparing Thepla, and Sandwiches other Gujarati food items. Full training will be provided, so candidates with a willingness to learn are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Thepla, Sandwiches, and other Gujarati food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, and food preparation standards
• Assist in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas for seasonal offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
• Ensure food quality, taste
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
• Follow food safety and café operating procedures
• Work as part of the kitchen team and support daily operations
• Ability to understand basic English is an advantage

Requirements

• Basic interest and knowledge of cooking

• Willingness to learn Gujarati cuisine and café food preparation

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Chef/Cook is an advantage
• Freshers with a passion for cooking are welcome
• Knowledge of Gujarati cuisine is an advantage
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistency in food preparation
