Therapy Application: Measure wound dimensions, prepare the wound bed, and meticulously apply sterile foams, drapes, and vacuum pumps as directed.

Pressure Management

Program and monitor the NPWT machine (e.g., Solventum) to maintain consistent suction and fluid removal.

Patient Monitoring: Inspect wound sites regularly for granulation progress, signs of infection, or adverse reactions, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Dressing Changes: Remove old dressings, safely clean the wound bed using sterile techniques, and apply new vacuum units on a scheduled rotation (typically every 48 to 72 hours).

Patient Education

Train patients and family members on managing and troubleshooting the portable VAC equipment at home.

Documentation: Record accurate details of wound drainage, healing milestones, and equipment settings in patient files for continuity of care and insurance reimbursement
