Job Description

Job Summary: Perform maintenance, installation, repair, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical equipment across OT, OPD, IPD, wards, and other clinical areas. Apply biomedical engineering principles to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of medical equipment. Ensure compliance with SRMC policies, procedures, and NABH standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform timely calibration and preventive maintenance of medical equipment. Prepare and implement preventive maintenance plans. Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medical instrumentation and equipment. Coordinate with external service engineers for AMC/CMC, preventive maintenance, and breakdown services. Ensure timely closure of breakdown work orders and submission of service reports. Monitor and reduce turnaround time (TAT) for critical equipment breakdowns. Follow up on spare parts and pending work orders for timely completion. Monitor returnable equipment and ensure timely receipt. Provide on-site training to doctors, nurses, and support staff on equipment operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. Liaise with physicians and HODs regarding equipment requirements and technical issues. Analyse technical problems and recommend suitable equipment or engineering solutions. Inspect installations and ensure compliance with equipment specifications, safety, and operational standards. Participate in quality improvement and educational activities. Maintain proper documentation and adhere to institutional policies and NABH requirements. Perform other duties assigned by the HOD/Management. Educational Qualification: BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or related field. Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Biomedical Engineering / Medical Equipment Maintenance. Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also be considered.
