Infection Control Nurse

Job Summary

We are looking for a disciplined and detail-oriented Infection Control Nurse responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention practices across the hospital. This role is critical in reducing hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) and ensuring compliance with clinical safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement infection prevention and control (IPC) policies and protocols
• Conduct regular infection surveillance and report trends (HAIs, SSI, CLABSI, etc.)
• Monitor adherence to hand hygiene and aseptic techniques
• Perform audits of clinical areas and recommend corrective actions
• Train healthcare staff on infection control practices
• Investigate infection outbreaks and recommend containment strategies
• Ensure compliance with NABH standards
• Coordinate with microbiology lab for culture reports and antibiotic stewardship
• Maintain infection control records, reports, and documentation

Requirements

• BSc Nursing / GNM with valid Kerala Nursing Council registration
• Certification in Infection Control (preferred )
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience (ICU experience strongly preferred)
• Prior experience in infection control or quality department is a big advantage
• Strong knowledge of sterilization, disinfection, and biomedical waste management
• Good communication and training skills
