VVS Fresh N Fine is a growing supermarket and wholesale business with multi-location operations across Kerala. Our business includes supermarkets, wholesale operations, central godown, inventory, purchase, finance and other centralized functions.
We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented HR Manager who can build strong HR systems, ensure manpower availability and develop a high-performance workforce across our retail and wholesale operations.
Job Summary
The HR Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR Operations, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, Manpower Planning, Employee Relations, Attendance, Payroll Coordination, Performance Management, Training \& Development, Employee Engagement and HR Compliance.
This is a hands-on role suited for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with store managers, department heads, frontline employees and management in a fast-paced, multi-location retail and wholesale environment.
Key Responsibilities1. HR Operations \& Manpower Planning
- Plan manpower requirements across supermarkets, wholesale, godown and support functions.
- Monitor daily manpower availability and deployment.
- Maintain organizational structure and employee database.
- Identify manpower shortages and coordinate replacements.
- Ensure optimum employee deployment based on business requirements.
Recruitment \& Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for retail, wholesale and support positions.
- Source candidates through job portals, employee referrals, institutes and local recruitment channels.
- Screen candidates and conduct HR interviews.
- Coordinate interviews with department heads and management.
- Ensure vacancies are filled within defined timelines.
Employee Onboarding
- Manage joining formalities and employee documentation.
- Conduct employee induction and orientation.
- Explain company policies, job responsibilities, KRAs and KPIs.
- Coordinate department-level onboarding.
- Track employee performance during probation.
Attendance, Leave \& Shift Management
- Monitor attendance across all locations.
- Track absenteeism, late coming and employee availability.
- Coordinate leave and shift management with store and department managers.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Identify recurring attendance and discipline issues.
Payroll Coordination
- Coordinate monthly payroll inputs with Finance.
- Verify attendance, overtime, incentives, deductions and other payroll inputs.
- Ensure payroll data accuracy.
- Resolve employee salary-related queries.
- Maintain confidential employee compensation records.
Performance Management
- Develop and implement KRA and KPI systems for different positions.
- Coordinate monthly/quarterly performance reviews.
- Track employee productivity and performance.
- Manage probation evaluations.
- Identify low-performing employees and implement performance improvement plans.
- Support management in promotions, incentives and career progression.
Training \& Development
- Identify training needs across retail and wholesale operations.
- Prepare training calendars.
- Conduct induction and employee development programs.
- Coordinate training on customer service, sales, SOPs, discipline and workplace standards.
- Develop supervisors, team leaders and managers.
Employee Relations \& Grievance Management
- Act as a communication bridge between employees and management.
- Handle employee grievances professionally.
- Investigate workplace issues and conflicts.
- Maintain employee discipline according to company policies.
- Conduct exit interviews and identify reasons for employee turnover.
Employee Engagement \& Retention
- Develop employee engagement initiatives.
- Implement employee recognition programs.
- Monitor employee satisfaction and retention.
- Analyze attrition trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Build a positive and performance-oriented workplace culture.
HR Policies, Compliance \& HR Systems
- Develop and implement HR policies and SOPs.
- Maintain employee records and personnel files.
- Ensure required labour and statutory compliance processes are followed.
- Conduct periodic HR audits across branches.
- Standardize HR processes across all locations.
- Maintain accurate HR reports and dashboards.

Candidate Profile

Education \& Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
- 3–7 years of relevant HR experience.
Preferred
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources.
