Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser

Eligibility \& Skills

• Qualification: Under Graduates / DPharm preferred. Candidates with relevant pharmacy-assistant experience will also be considered.
• Previous experience in a hospital/clinic/retail pharmacy will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of medicines, prescriptions and pharmacy procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process prescriptions accurately.
• Assist in dispensing medicines as per prescription and pharmacist instructions.
• Check medicine names, quantities, expiry dates and packaging.
• Maintain proper stock records and inventory of medicines and pharmacy supplies.
• Assist with ordering, receiving and arranging medicines and consumables.
• Ensure proper storage and organization of medicines.
• Monitor near-expiry and expired medicines and follow appropriate procedures.
• Handle billing, cash/UPI transactions and pharmacy-related documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the pharmacy area.
• Interact courteously and professionally with patients and attendants.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses and other staff when required.
• Follow all applicable pharmacy, safety and infection-control procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
