Senior Wireless Network Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Wireless Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise wireless networking solutions. This role requires deep expertise in Cisco, Aruba, and Juniper Mist wireless platforms, advanced RF design capabilities, and extensive experience using Ekahau and Hamina for predictive modeling, site surveys, and post-deployment validation.
The ideal candidate is a client-facing technical leader who can architect scalable wireless solutions, perform complex troubleshooting, mentor engineering teams, and provide strategic guidance for large-scale wireless modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Wireless Architecture & Design
Design enterprise-grade wireless networks supporting high-density, mission-critical environments.
Develop wireless designs using Cisco, Aruba, and Juniper Mist technologies.
Create predictive wireless designs utilizing Ekahau and Hamina.
Perform capacity planning, RF tuning, channel planning, and coverage optimization.
Develop low-level and high-level design documentation, Visio diagrams, and implementation guides.
Conduct wireless readiness assessments and technology evaluations.
Site Surveys & Validation
Perform predictive, passive, active, and AP-on-a-stick surveys.
Utilize Ekahau Sidekick and other RF tools to analyze spectrum utilization and interference.
Validate wireless designs through onsite surveys and post-installation assessments.
Produce heat maps, coverage reports, validation surveys, and executive summaries.
Identify coverage gaps, co-channel interference, roaming issues, and performance bottlenecks.
Implementation & Deployment
Lead wireless deployments, upgrades, and migration projects.
Execute wireless migrations between vendors, including Cisco to Mist and Aruba modernization initiatives.
Configure and optimize controllers, cloud-managed platforms, and access points.
Provide technical leadership during implementation activities and maintenance windows.
Support large-scale campus, warehouse, distribution center, healthcare, education, and enterprise deployments.
Operations & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot complex wireless issues involving
RF interference
Roaming failures
Client connectivity
Authentication and onboarding
Performance degradation
Voice and video quality issues
Analyze packet captures and wireless traces.
Conduct root cause analysis and provide corrective action recommendations.
Support escalation efforts for critical wireless incidents.
Client & Team Leadership
Serve as a trusted advisor for clients and stakeholders.
Lead design workshops, planning sessions, and technical presentations.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, security teams, and operations teams.
Provide technical review and approval of wireless designs and implementation plans.

Required Technical Qualifications
Experience
7+ years of enterprise wireless networking experience.
5+ years designing and deploying enterprise WLAN solutions.
Experience leading large-scale wireless projects from assessment through implementation.
Demonstrated client-facing consulting and engineering experience.
